Assassin’s Creed Shadows Launch Delayed to February 2025

Assassin’s Creed Shadows Launch Delayed to February 2025

The highly anticipated Assassin’s Creed Shadows has officially been delayed to February 14, 2025. Originally slated for a November 15, 2024 release, this decision by Ubisoft comes in light of disappointing sales for their recently launched title, Star Wars Outlaws. The shift in release date is a strategic move as the company aims to enhance the game’s quality and ensure it meets the high expectations set by fans of the franchise.

Ubisoft cited the need for additional polishing as a key reason for the delay. According to the company, while *Assassin’s Creed Shadows* is feature complete, insights gained from the Star Wars Outlaws launch prompted them to provide extra time for development. This allows developers to refine the gameplay experience, especially focusing on the dual protagonist system featuring Naoe and Yasuke, which promises to deliver two distinct gameplay styles.

In a bid to attract a wider audience, Ubisoft has decided to break from its standard practices. Notably, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be available on Steam on launch day, and it will not follow the traditional Season Pass model. Instead, all players will have access to the game simultaneously, with preorders receiving the first expansion for free. This approach aims to enhance player engagement and satisfaction right from the launch.

The delay of Assassin’s Creed Shadows has generated mixed reactions within the gaming community. While some fans are disappointed by the wait, many understand the importance of delivering a polished and engaging experience. As Ubisoft continues to address the challenges faced in their recent titles, the hope is that Assassin’s Creed Shadows will emerge as a standout entry in the renowned franchise. With this extra time, gamers can anticipate a richer narrative and refined gameplay mechanics that will hopefully set a new standard for action-adventure titles.
