Premier League Matchweek 24 Preview and Predictions
Liverpool remain six points clear of Arsenal with a game in hand at the top of the standings, while Nottingham Forest have fallen further back in third after their heavy defeat to Bournemouth last weekend.
There is a big test for Liverpool in one of six matches on Saturday as they travel to face Bournemouth, one of the league’s in-form teams.
There is also a huge clash at the bottom of the table as Ipswich Town take on relegation rivals Southampton.
The game of the week sees Arsenal host champions Manchester City in a crucial contest at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday. At the same time, the round concludes at Stamford Bridge on Monday with a London derby between Chelsea and West Ham.
Ahead of what looks set to be an entertaining group of Premier League fixtures, let’s check out our expert predictions' latest predictions.
After their damaging defeat last week, Nottingham Forest will look to get their Champions League qualification bid back on track as they host Brighton & Hove Albion in the Saturday early kick-off.
Forest are winless in their last three Premier League meetings with Brighton, while the five goals they conceded in their stunning reverse at Bournemouth were more than the four they had let in across the previous seven games combined.
Since the start of MD13 in November, no side has won more Premier League points than the Cherries (25), while Liverpool have the longest active unbeaten run at 18 games, with Bournemouth not far behind on 11.
Bournemouth found a way to beat Man City in November on the last occasion they faced a team sitting top of the table, though they have only won one of their last 11 top-flight meetings with the Reds.
Sunday’s headline fixture sees Arsenal face Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium, with Mikel Arteta’s Gunners given a slight chance of victory over the champions.
Arsenal are unbeaten in 13 league matches and have earned the most points of any side from MD11 onwards (29) this season. They have never had a longer top-flight unbeaten run under Arteta, last going 14 without defeat in 2018 when Emery was in charge.
However, City relish this time of year. They have remarkably lost just one of their last 40 league matches played from January until the end of the campaign (W33 D6), with the sole loss coming to Brentford on the final day of 2022-23 when the title was already sewn up.
